Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use DevScan: this website, the DevScan app and the devscan command-line tool (together, “the service”). By signing in to DevScan, or by letting an agent use it for you, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

What DevScan does

DevScan gives you and your coding agents one identity for signing in and signing up to developer services (“vendors”). You sign in to DevScan in a browser and approve your agents. Your agents can then sign up to vendors that work with DevScan and get API keys from them, without a browser.

DevScan is an early-stage service. Features may change, and we may suspend or stop the service. We will try to give notice before stopping it.

Your account

  • You sign in with your GitHub account, and must have a verified email address on it.
  • You must be at least 16 years old, and able to agree to these terms.
  • If you use DevScan for an organization, you confirm that you may accept these terms for it.
  • Keep your GitHub account and your devices secure. Tell us at contact@devscan.ai if you think your account is misused.

Your agents

When you approve an agent login, you authorize that agent to act through DevScan for you. In particular, it can sign up to vendors and get API keys in your name, with your name and verified email address. You are responsible for what your approved agents do through DevScan, as if you had done it yourself.

You can see each agent login and its activity in DevScan, and revoke it at any time. Revoking stops it getting new access through DevScan. Keys it already received are revoked at each vendor.

Vendors

  • Vendors are independent services. When you or your agent sign up to a vendor, you get an account with that vendor, under its own terms and privacy policy, and you are responsible for following them, including any charges.
  • The vendor account belongs to you and uses your own email address, so you can reach and recover it without DevScan. Deleting your DevScan account does not delete your vendor accounts.
  • DevScan never sees the API keys vendors issue to your agents, and is not responsible for how vendors run their services or handle your data.

Acceptable use

Don't use DevScan, or let your agents use it, to:

  • break the law, or break a vendor's terms;
  • create accounts at vendors in someone else's name, or abuse vendors' free plans;
  • send spam, or harm, overload or attack DevScan, vendors or other people;
  • get around DevScan's security, limits or access controls, or access other people's data.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, or that put DevScan, vendors or other users at risk.

Fees

DevScan is free to use for now. If we introduce paid features, we will tell you before anything is charged, and you will not be charged without agreeing.

Our service and your feedback

DevScan, its software and its brand belong to us. These terms give you permission to use the service as described here, and nothing more. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without obligation to you.

Ending your use

You can stop using DevScan at any time, and ask us to delete your account by emailing contact@devscan.ai. We may end your access as described above, or if we stop offering the service.

Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, to the extent the law allows.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, DevScan is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, lost profits or lost data, or for vendors' services or what your agents do. Our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and USD 100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as DevScan changes, and will change the date above. For significant changes, we will let account holders know by email or in the app before they take effect. If you keep using DevScan after that, you accept the new terms.
